University Challenge: Week 1 Recap!

September 17, 2012 The first week of the 2012 University Challenge shattered records. Read on to see who won big for week 1!
Records were once again broken in the first week of the 2012 Knovel University Challenge.
Top Schools:
SUNY Buffalo becoming the first school in Challenge history to have over 100 students participate in under 24 hours! And not to be outdone, The Middle East Technical University also qualified for the Contest-Within-the-Contest by more than doubling it’s 2011 participation within the first week.
Top Students:
Each week during the contest, a student is selected to win a Western Digital HD TV Live Streaming Media Player (valued at $75 USD). With this Media Player you can quickly watch movies, TV shows, listen to music, browse the web and much more, all from the comfort of your couch!
Last week, Koushik Ponnuru from Suny Buffalo took home the Media Player, as well as all the glory of being the challenges’ first student winner. Congrats Koushik! And a big thanks to all the participating schools and students.
